Happy Wed! Dont Despair , Almost There

Posted By Jacy on May 18, 2011

This post goes to everyone who is coming to the end of a long road. For example: a semester at college. Especially if you have been doing it on top of something else. Working full time can be enough for most people, then there are those who choose to go back to school in their spare time. And it can be a difficult task. It can feel even more trying when it comes to this time of year and its “Finals” season. Ask any college student and they will tell you. This can take alot out of you because you want to do your best and finish with a sense of accomplishment (and of course a good grade). But remember that you made it this far and your concern for putting in your best work only proves the passion that you have for what you are doing. And if throughout the past couple of months you have done well in your endeavors, then there is no reason why you shouldnt do well in your finish. So just try to hold onto your patience, continue to work as you have in the past, be happy with what you are doing and all will be fine.       KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Happy Sun! Keep Your On The Ball

Posted By Jacy on April 3, 2011

I guess cause baseball season in upon us, I used this phrase in relation to what it is that we are trying to accomplish. Staying focused on whats important to get certain things done. When we set goals for ourselves and we dont stay on track with completing the  neccassary steps we need to take, it becomes difficult to follow through on the original desired outcome. If we allow ourselves to become distracted or even just fall behind a lil on the set plan, it will take that much more work/effort to catch up and stay on track. Things will fall in our path and sometimes we may create certain pitfalls ourselves (such is life). and thats O.K.. As long as we recognize whats going on and we come back even stronger than before. Its easier said than done to keep priorities in order when there are many things going on at once. Sometime certain things need to happen to remind us of just what we are supposed to be focused on. Nobody is perfect in this world, never was…never will be.  We do our best at what we strive for and we learn what really is important as life goes by. We may not hit that homerun every time at bat, even when we DO keep our eye on the ball.  But just being up at bat is a rewarding experience and knowing that you swung  with all that youve got  should be enough to sleep good at night.     BATTER UP!

Happy Thurz! On The Road Again

Posted By Jacy on March 31, 2011

Literally! In recent posts, ive talked about how good things happen to us when we are involved with doing good things for ourselves and others. Sometimes it doesnt take long and the fruits of are labor are apparent pretty fast. Other times, it may take a while to see any changes coming our way. (Either way, it happenz) I have applied myself to beneficial and productive activities for the past few months and it has proved to be time well spent. But of course ,being human and all, i have had moments where i questioned myself and asked if the things that i was doin was worth it. My faith ,patience and hard work has not gone unnoticed. I know i have my god watching over me…..just as he has always been.  It is very easy in this world to get caught up in a frame of mind tha asks “what are we doing this for?” or “is it really worth it?”. These are pitfalls that we must try to avoid because they are distracting and may keep us from reaching the goals we have set for ourselves. Lets keep a positive outlook, continue the hard work and KNOW that it will all be well woth it. Whats the old saying? You will get out of something exactly what you put into it. For example, all this week in school is midterm work and essay writings. I have paid certain dues in school to reach this point and i know i wouldnt have gotten here had i kept up a negative attitude and/or outlook. Anyway, sometimes in life you have to work your way up through the ranks of the “sneaker brigade” to find yourself behind the wheel of a “sweet ride”.          Peace

Happy Wed! Dont Get Caught Off (or On) Guard

Posted By Jacy on March 23, 2011

What I mean by “Not getting caught off guard” .Pretty much, just be ready for anything. This is a crazy world we live in and it is a good thing to have a plan for certain future events. There are things that you CAN plan for and then there are things that you CANNOT plan for. Having the ability to keep in mind that unforeseen events are a part of life and being able to “roll with the punches” will keep the stress level down. (kind of like acceptance regarding lack of control). Things are going to happen in this world+you being part of this world=things are going to happen to you. Its that simple!         Now, “Not getting caught ON guard” is only a reference to being on edge. I dont want to see anyone sitting around being anxious about the future or worrying about things to come. Especially when we dont know what kind of things are to come. And when things do come, and something happens to us that was totally unexpected, lets try not to act in a way that is destructive to ourselves or others. And do not spend all of your waking moments “on edge” wondering whats to come. Worrying is only a waste of time, time that can be spent on the here and now moments that we do have.    Anyway…..be ready for anything, expect nothing and enjoy the things that you have now.

Happy Wed! As You Were

Posted By Jacy on March 16, 2011

When i was active duty in the Navy there were many times when my shipmates and I were caught off gaurd by an officer hitting us witha surprize inspection or some other unexpected distraction from the duties that we were performing. It could have been something as serious as a fire/flooding drill or something as silly as the Captain cutting through our berthing space. These such situations always ended with an announcement of “as you were”, which meant that everyone could now go back to whatever it was we were involved in before having our attention diverted.    I think of times in life when certain events will distract people from the life they are currently living and they find it difficult to re-focus on what they were doing before the distraction. These events can vary from car accidents, deaths, financial issues and/or inter-personal relationship problems. (just to name a few) Unfortunatly, these kinds of things are going to happen to all of us and we are going to have to find a way to re-focus on our lives and our priorities. Ive talked about acceptance before and it is the best way to deal with pretty much everything. Although its easier said than done. Instead of just ”accepting” things as they occur, most people want an explanation to “why”. I think asking this only makes most things more difficult because there usually is no proper reasoning to “why” alot of things happen. After living for a while and having a variety of stuff happen to us, most people realize its just a part of life and this “acceptance” starts to set in. I guess you can say that it comes with experience. (so far for me, anyway). Anyway, as long as you have things happening to you, take it as a reminder that your still alive and are able to feel. Which is a good thing, try to enjoy it as long as it lasts.

Happy Sat! 4 those Non-Earthquaked

If you are “connected” in this world, and most are not, then you know about the destruction in Japan……BE THANKFUL it is not you. It can very well be. We never know what the next day holds. If you have a roof over your head and your  main concern is what to have for dinner, COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. Things will happen in this world and, as Ive said before, we have no control over it. We are not “untouchable” just because nothing bad has happened to us already. All I can say is be thankful that these natural disasters havnt affected you. (YET). and continue to enjoy what you have and be grateful for them. Dont take anything for granted and stay focused on doing something good. And not only for yourself!

Happy Thurz! Good=Good

Posted By Jacy on March 10, 2011

There is only one way to explain all the good things that have been happening in my life and that it is due only to the fact that i have been trying to continually do the right thing. I can think of times in the past when i was able to improvements happening in my life and they all seemed to take place when i was either bettering myself or when i was involved with doing good things for others. Call it karma or whatever you like, but i think of the old saying that “what goes around comes around” and im believing more and more as time goes by. It also helps to not think of all the bad or negative things from the past. And maybe that has something to do with the law of attraction. If your stuck in thought of the bad experiences, then thats what you will attract. But  i have found that if you stay busy with the good stuff and work on self-improvement or some kind of charitabl work, then you are in good space and that is what will come your way. So, for me, I will continue on the road that i presently find myself and I will not take any of these good things for granted. In this world that we live, its not always easy to stay positive and do the right thing 100% of the time, but if all it takes is a little work on my part to be in a goo place , then thats what will do. It may not happen overnight, it may take some time to get aligned with the good (positive )space, but it is so worth it. I have been on both sides and it did take some work to clear out the negativity in my life, but i wouldnt want it any other way. PEACE

Happy Tues! Being Free of The Pre-……

Posted By Jacy on March 2, 2011

The “pre” standing for anything that has happened in our past. Being involved wih a sociology class now, im hearing alot of talk regarding peopkle being a product of thier past. And i do agree with some of it. We all pick up things from those who have come before us. But that in no way should dictate how, who and why we are now. Im guilty of letting past events control me and holding back from bigger and better things. And that was a foolish waste of precious time. No one should or has to let thier past be a compass as to where there futures lie.  I just dont see how we can sit back and accept certain things as they are because “thats the way they have always been” . We all have the ability to make adjustments in our circustances,  no matter what they may be. I think ive stated this before and i guess we cant hear it enough, Dont let your enviroment dictate who you are. Any blame we try to lay out beyond ourselves only falls into the “excuse” pile. and thats all it amounts to, A PILE. There isnt a soul alive who hasnt had thier fair share of B.S. at some point. We all have to deal with certain issues of some kind or another and some of them will be more trying than others. There may be a few that seem almost impossible to get past. but thats what they are….The Past….and the sooner we accept that, the more time we have for the present moments and the future. (The future is a whole other thing) So spend your time in all the “Nows” that you get.

Happy Tues! Gratitude Attitude

Posted By Jacy on February 23, 2011

Ive touched on this before and it can never be discussed enough, being thankful for the things that you have is the key to having better things come into your life. In this chaotic world that we live in (those of us priviledged enough to be online), with the busy lifestyle that we lead, it is easy to loose focus on the important things in life. Quality time with loved ones and those close to you far outway any stupid text you can send or spending any time on a website that you find selling nothing but junk. For the most part, people who have gotten to a point where they have forgotten the good things in their lives, start looking elswhere and feel as if they are missing something. Or they fell like they need find something more. The problem with that is that there is always something more after you get more. The ” Hustle Bustle” lifestyle can be a good thing and its nice to stay busy but dont get lost in a state that you loose appreciate the things that you have already. The technological age is a beautiful thing and does benefit alot of people but it is causing a breakdown in the basis of human interaction. I realize that i may be going off my original topic here, but those who can identify with what im saying can understand. Lets try to get back to REAL human interaction and im not speaking of laser tag.  Person to person conversation is and always has been the best way to communicate with people.  Anyway, back to the topic. Being grateful for the things that you have is easy to forget these days but is something that we all should be. Dont worry about the things that you dont have and be happy for the things that you do.

Happy Sat! How Bad Do You Want It?

Posted By Jacy on February 20, 2011

If you wanted it bad enough, you would have it already.  Unless of course its somehing that you are working towards. And hopefully, that is the case. To waste your time in the desire instead of doing something about make all the difference in the world. Most of the worin this goes back to alot of things that i have written about aready. Not procrastinating, having patience and possessing the knowledge to know what you are capable of. Without the “knowing” or at least the unstoppable belief that you will “know”, theres no point in pursuing it. Once there is doubt, or the thought of( whatever it is) isnt possible, the battle is pretty much lost. Someone cant want something for you more than you do and all the waiting in the world will not bring a whole lot to you. So keep in mind the things that you have…..at one time you had wanted them.  Remember that it most likely didnt happen overnight.  Stay focused on the “next priority” and dont question any hurdles or get caught in uneccessary distractions.  Whatever it is that you want achieve will show itself it is meant to be.
